Mealha’s hill is located 9 km from Cachopo. In the late 2000’s there were around 60 inhabitants and one only couple aged less than 40 years old.
The surroundings are enhanced by the marks left by people over the millennia, such as Pedras Altas and Masmorra dolmens. Additionally, it is also made of the diversity, the beauty and the techniques of the rustic architecture like the “haystacks”, the windmills and the water-mills, the furnaces, the barn-floors and pillories.
The main activities are connected to the bread cycles, the pig, the goat, the olive oil and the honey and also wool weaving.
